The Small Charity/Not for Profit Community Impact Award

Winner - Walton Youth & Community Project 

The Walton Youth & Community Project (WYCP) engages 2,790 young people in Walton, delivering 6,200+ youth work hours, one-to-one support, and food aid. Their mobile youth work and holistic approach foster trust, improves mental health, and strengthens communities. Following the 2024 riots, WYCP provided safe spaces, led clean ups, and supported those affected. Through strong community involvement and partnerships, WYCP continues to empower young people and build long term resilience.

GoodShip* is a Liverpool based collaboration agency specialising in consultancy, strategy, creativity, and technology. Founded by Gavin Sherratt, GoodShip* builds creative and tech teams to drive client growth and innovation.

 

Its community initiative, KinShip, has engaged over 350 participants through events like “Random Act of Connection” and “AI & Tech for Good,” fostering collaboration. GoodShip* is dedicated to empowering clients and strengthening the local creative and tech community.

The Black-E has empowered Liverpool’s communities since 1967 as the UK’s first artist-led community arts project. Engaging 4,000 young people in 2024 through dance, circus, and creative workshops, it removes barriers to arts participation with free and subsidised activities.

 

As a cultural hub, it unites communities through festivals and performances, fostering confidence and friendships. It provides a safe, welcoming space for young people to express themselves, develop confidence, and build friendships.

Savera UK is a leading charity tackling ‘honour’-based abuse, forced marriage, and conversion ‘therapy’ through life saving services and advocacy. In 2023/24, they supported 230+ individuals in 23+ languages and educated 3,000+ people.

 

Survivor stories showcase their impact in helping individuals find their ‘savera’ (new beginning). Their comprehensive approach combining intervention, education, and community engagement creates lasting change.

Centre 56 is a charity that has supported vulnerable families in Liverpool for over 50 years, providing specialist childcare for children affected by domestic abuse. Founded in 1973 as the first women’s refuge outside London, it now offers a safe nursery and essential support for families through their Rainbow Room.

 

Partnering with businesses and organisations, Centre 56 raises awareness and funds to break cycles of abuse and poverty. Its work continues to transform lives, offering hope and stability to families in crisis.

Winner - Alfie’s Squad

Alfie’s Squad supports young people (6-17) bereaved by suicide, creating a vital peer network. Inspired by Alfie’s loss at eight, it has grown over 800% in 18 months, now helping more than 50 young people and their families.

 

Through face-to-face and online sessions, it reduces isolation and improves self worth. Alfie's Squad is the only group of its kind in the UK. Led by Alfie’s mum, Allison, Alfie’s Squad is not just offering support, it is reshaping the landscape of suicide bereavement care in the UK.
