London Marathon 2026

Our first TCS London Marathon

We’re proud to announce that Stuart Capstick will be running the 2026 TCS London Marathon as our very first ever charity runner for Be Free Campaign!

Stuart is taking on this incredible challenge to raise £2,500 for young people’s mental health and to help prevent suicide. Suicide is the leading cause of death for under-35s and this needs to change.

By supporting Stuart, you’re helping us deliver life-saving mental health services for young people aged 11–25. Providing them with tools to manage anxiety, depression, and other challenges before they reach crisis point.

Why are you running for the Be Free Campaign?

I’ve known Danika through networking for a number of years and when I came to learn of Be Free, I was shocked that he leading cause of death of young people is suicide so knew I wanted to do my part to help.

One thing that you’re doing to prepare for the marathon?

Running, firstly. I’ve just started training towards it and getting into the routine of training.  I will be keeping this up until the marathon.

What’s one message you want to tell to the world?

Don’t worry too much about what other people think, be yourself, be free :)

What will you do if you feel overwhelmed before the race?

When I was younger, I can see potential for me to become overwhelmed, but happy that as I’ve aged, I’ve managed to control that emotion and to be able to prepare myself mentally for what’s ahead. I’m confident I’ll be calm on race day.

What are you most excited about?

Running around the sights of London and crossing the historic Tower Bridge.

What are you most nervous about?

It’s my first ever marathon and I am under no illusions that it will be a huge challenge to push past my current range; but I’m excited for the challenge!

What’s something you wish you started earlier in life?

I started singing at age 40 and whilst I’m very happy I started then; I think there may have been wider opportunities had I started at a younger age.  However, I did not have the confidence then to do so, or the organisation to have been able to make it work.  So, some things are meant to happen when they happen.
