Free To Be Me
Culture Days

Table of contents

What is Free to be Me?

Free To Be Me is a celebration of culture, identity, and wellbeing. It’s built for young people, families, communities, to come together, express themselves, and feel seen.

It’s a way to connect with yourself and others and feel part of a community.

It also creates a space where you can access different perspectives and expose you to new art, music and literature.

We bring Free To Be Me into schools and community spaces, creating spaces full of:

  • Art installations

  • Poetry and spoken word

  • Dance and performance

  • Creative stalls and workshops

  • Safe zones to share, reflect, and connect

Your cultural identity can shape how you see the world. It can support you, but also bring pressure. When we make space to talk about it, we make space for growth, healing, and belonging.

How celebration of culture and wellbeing connect:

You feel stronger when you're understood and supported.

You gain new ways of seeing things through others’ stories.

You feel rooted, valued, and part of something bigger.

You develop a stronger sense of identity and belonging

Free to Be Me in Schools

We come into schools so young people can have a safe moment to pause, reflect, and express. Through art, dance, writing, and discussion, students:

  • Practice emotional expression

  • Explore identity and belonging

  • Build confidence through creative voice

  • See others’ journeys and feel less alone
