EMOTIONS

Being aware of your own emotions, as well as others is important.

WHY ARE POSITIVE EMOTIONS IMPORTANT?

THEY ARE A BUFFER FOR STRESS

Having more positive emotions can help protect you from some harmful consequences caused by stress. They increase resilience as well.

HELP STRENGTHEN CURRENT RELATIONSHIPS

Bringing positivity in your relationships helps strengthen them. Doing little things such as sharing funny content, going on walks with people you love or sharing a dinner can secure the relationships that you already have.

How can I increase positive emotions?

Practice gratitude.

Recognising and appreciating the positive aspects to your life, no matter how small they are, can greatly impact you emotional wellbeing. This can be done in many ways, such as writing a small list, contemplating the good things that you might have or even thanking a loved one face-to-face.

Be kind.

Giving and helping other people boosts your mood and increases your lifespan. Check out our giving page here.

Connect with others.

Strong, healthy relationships are an important factor when it comes to good emotional health. Not only do they boost your sense of self-confidence and self-esteem, they also help you get through difficult times. Check out our connect page here.

Savour the good moments.

We tend to rush through life; especially when we go through great experiences. Slowing down to appreciate good moments in our lives will allow us to "teach" our brains to steer towards a positive thinking pattern.
